UPDATE: The travel advisory was lifted around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Monroe County was under a travel advisory from 6:30 p.m. Monday to around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The travel advisory was issued because of “deteriorating road conditions,” according to an email issued by the Monroe County Alert system.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security recommends drivers exercise caution while traveling as weather conditions may cause poor visibility.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory to remain in effect from 7 p.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday, forecasting an accumulation of 1-4 inches of snow.
