Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti has added yet another award to his name, as he was named the Home Depot Coach of the Year on Friday.

Cignetti became the first coach to win the award in back-to-back seasons and just the second to win it twice, joining Brian Kelly, who won in 2009, 2012 and 2018. Cignetti was previously named the Walter Camp Coach of the Year on Wednesday.

Over Cignetti’s two seasons at the helm of the Hoosiers, he’s led Indiana to its two most successful campaigns in program history. First, the Cream and Crimson went 11-2 in 2024 with their first College Football Playoff appearance.

Now, Cignetti guided the Hoosiers to their first 12-0 regular season and a victory over then-No. 1 Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game. Indiana is ranked No. 1 for the first time in the program’s history.

Although Cignetti has brought success to a school previously known for losing, the Hoosiers have their sights set on far greater accomplishments: a national championship.

Indiana’s first step to achieving that starts in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 in Pasadena, California, where the Hoosiers await either the No. 8 University of Oklahoma or the No. 9 University of Alabama.
