Indiana men’s soccer is ranked top 5 in the nation in this week’s latest rankings.
The Hoosiers currently sit at No. 4 in the United Soccer Coaches’ Poll for the week of Sept. 2. They are one spot, and only eight points, behind Clemson University, whom they tied 2-2 in their season opener on Aug. 21.
Indiana was ranked No. 7 in the nation during last week’s United Soccer Coaches poll, jumping three spots in the latest rankings.
Indiana was also ranked No. 3 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll and No. 5 in the College Soccer News poll, but the NCAA follows the United Soccer Coaches poll.
Over the last week of action, the Hoosiers went undefeated. They secured a come-from-behind victory against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay 2-1 on Aug. 28 before recording a shutout against then-ranked No. 14 Oregon State University on Aug. 31.
Graduate goalkeeper Holden Brown and senior forward Palmer Ault helped guide Indiana to both of its victories over the last week. Brown put up a clean sheet against Oregon State, while Ault scored three goals in those two games.
The Hoosiers will take on No. 16 Saint Louis University in their next matchup of the season at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
