For the fourth time in five weeks, Indiana men’s soccer has a representative in the Big Ten weekly awards. Senior forward Palmer Ault took his second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week as well as a nod in the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week, and sophomore center back Josh Maher earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
Ault netted a hat trick against Penn State on Friday and contributed an assist en route to a 4-1 victory. The award marks Ault’s second with the Hoosiers, with the first coming after three goals and an assist against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Aug. 28 and Oregon State University on Aug. 31.
The Noblesville, Indiana, native’s TDS Team of the Week selection is also his second of the season, with the first coming the same day as his first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award.
Maher returned to the starting lineup against Saint Louis University on Sept. 3 following an injury against Clemson University on Aug. 21. The Caseyville, Illinois, native netted his first college goal against the Nittany Lions, leading to his first career Big Ten weekly award.
