UPDATED: Tornado watch lifted for Monroe County, severe storms disperse

10:47 p.m.

The IDS confirmed in a phone call that the National Weather Service has lifted all warnings and advisories for Monroe County. 2,487 customers are without power in Monroe County, according to Duke Energy

10:07 p.m.

The National Weather Service confirmed that at least one tornado touched down in Bloomington around 7:30 p.m. The threat level was estimated to be "considerable." 

Hail reaching up to 2.7 inches in diameter has also been observed in Bloomington.

Footage of the tornado activity has been seen amongst Bloomington Facebook groups, as well as on other social media platforms.

9:01 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Monroe County at 8:54 p.m., lasting until 9:15 p.m.

8:06 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 7:18 p.m., now lasting until 8:15 p.m., to residents of Monroe County and neighboring counties, advising residents to shelter in place.  

A tornado watch is also in place for most of the State of Indiana, including Monroe County, until 11 p.m. 

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the region but has since expired.
