B-Town Diner, located on 211 N. Walnut St., will close before the end of July, the owners announced June 9 via Facebook.
The owners, Jason and Meranda Bush, first opened the diner’s doors in March of 2014.
“As with many small businesses who barely got through COVID-19, we just can't survive the astronomical inflation rates, ones that we still see at the grocery stores,” the Facebook post read. “But somehow, COVID turned B-Town Diner, what was once one of the best breakfast places in town, into a hidden gem.”
B-Town Diner prioritized employing and advocating for people in early recovery from addiction, according to the post.
“As an advocate for people in recovery, I can sit well knowing that we used our ability to employ the advantage of others, by offering numerous recovering people that stable employment that’s so desperately needed when beginning such a difficult journey,” the Facebook post read.
The B-Town Diner offers food like sandwiches, burgers, breakfast stacks and more.
“If you have time, stop in and see us before we go! We’re still here, offering great food, awesome service, an amazing atmosphere, with an unbeatable price point,” the Facebook post read.
Another locally-owned restaurant, The Irish Lion, closed its doors May 17. The pub also announced plans to reopen as a take-out-only restaurant at a later date.
