Indiana baseball cancels game versus Ball State due to potential inclement weather

Indiana baseball’s Tuesday midweek game versus Ball State University was canceled due to potential inclement weather, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Indiana became the first Big Ten team since 2019 to win a three-game series at Maryland on April 5-7, led by Big Ten Player of the Week Tyler Cerny and Big Ten Freshman of the Week Joey Brenczewski. It will have to wait until Friday to continue their momentum.

When the teams played a home-and-home series last year, Indiana took both tilts. A 16-13 slugfest saw the home Hoosiers come out on top, while a back-and-forth affair ended in a 9-8 Indiana victory in Muncie. The Hoosiers will square off against the Cardinals just once now, with a neutral-site matchup scheduled for 6 p.m. April 23 at Victory Field in Indianapolis.

Just two wins shy of 200 victories at Bart Kaufman Field, Indiana now has extra time for its pitching staff to rest before hosting Penn State this weekend. Friday’s game versus the Nittany Lions begins at 6 p.m. and afternoon games are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
