Liam McNeeley, the No. 16 player in the 2024 recruiting class, announced his decommitment and request to be released from his National Letter of Intent from Indiana men’s basketball Wednesday night, per Joe Tipton, a college basketball insider, on X. The 5-star forward was the lone recruit in Indiana’s 2024 class.

McNeeley committed to Indiana on Oct. 23 and signed his National Letter of Intent on Nov. 8. He chose the Hoosiers over the University of Kansas while also considering the University of Alabama, University of Oklahoma, University of Texas and University of Michigan.

Recently named a high school All-American, McNeeley is averaging 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 30 games at top-ranked Montverde Academy. He was the fourth-highest ranked recruit in IU history, according to 247Sports.
