Local music this week: Rocktober takes over

Welcome back! Here is all the information you need for Bloomington’s music scene Oct. 3-8:  

18+ activities 

Bloomington based singer-songwriter Copeland James teams up with California artist Pacing and indie songwriter Lenox Monroe for a triple header show at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Orbit Room. Tickets can be purchased online for $7. 

Local grimy rock bands Dose Rose, Cone and Raccoon Messiah grace the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Arcadia, located at 317 E. 15th St. Cover will be $7. 

Mississippi based hip-hop hardcore group MSPAINT celebrates their debut album “Post-American” with a performance featuring local hardcore band D.R.L.N. at 9 p.m. Friday at the Bishop Bar. Tickets can be purchased online for $12, while tickets will be sold at the door for $15. 

Singer-songwriter Sophia Corrine and local indie band the Matriarch are set to perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Orbit Room. Tickets can be purchased online for $10.

21+ activities 

Local jazzy rock band Six Foot Blonde returns to the stage at 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Bluebird. Tickets can be purchased online for $10. 

Bloomington based independent rock band Rearview Rhonda teams up with band Bargain Bookclub for what’s sure to be a rockin’ show at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Blockhouse Bar. Cover will be $7. 

Cover band Welcome to the Neighborhood comes back for more at 10 p.m. Thursday at the Bluebird. Tickets can be purchased online for $5. 

Local country star Hank Ruff takes the stage at 9 p.m. Friday at the Bluebird. Tickets can be purchased online for $10.

Enigmatic Indiana bands Thee Aquaholics, Griffey and Moon Buggy take over the bar at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Blockhouse Bar. Cover will be $7. 

If experimental music is your thing, this weekend’s show is for you. Interdimensional prog rock band Satan’s God joins improvisational artist Rock N Roller Cola Wars, punk-inspired band Acid 87 and brother duo Brikjaard for a jam-packed show at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Orbit Room. Tickets can be purchased online for $8.
