IU student riding scooter struck by car, seriously injured at 10th and Woodlawn

A vehicle struck an IU student traveling on a scooter at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and 10th Street today, according to IU Public Safety Communications Manager Mary Keck. The student was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  

Keck said in an email the student was heading west on 10th Street when the accident occurred. IUPD responded to the accident at approximately 11:17 a.m. 

IUPD officers at the scene declined to comment.  

Keck said the intersection at Woodlawn Avenue and 10th Street will be temporarily closed due to ongoing investigation.
