Following a successful week with a 2-0 record, Indiana women’s basketball was voted second in the AP Top 25 on Monday afternoon. The ranking marks the highest Indiana has ever received in any poll.

The Hoosiers climb stems from winning both of its road games by 23 points. Indiana defeated Minnesota 77-54 in Minneapolis Wednesday night, then topped in-state rival Purdue 69-46 in front of a sold-out crowd at Mackey Arena Sunday afternoon.

Indiana jumped No. 3 Louisiana State University and then-No. 2 Stanford University, who lost to the University of Washington and dropped to No. 6.

Due to Stanford’s drop, Iowa moved up one spot to the No. 5 ranking in the poll. This sets up a top-5 showdown between the Hoosiers and the Hawkeyes in Bloomington on Thursday night, where the winner will secure first place in the Big Ten standings.
