BloomingTea owners Christian and Jenny Frederickson announced the closing of their teahouse this week. Its last day of business will be Dec. 23 and until then their hours will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

“It’s been a good run – almost 6 years  – and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed running this business, having fantastic customers and being part of the community,” the couple said in their Facebook announcement.

The Fredericksons said they are closing due to a lack of time to devote to the teahouse. They are also expecting twin grandchildren this May.

“Jenny is in Oregon helping with our granddaughter and I’m working full time, so we just don’t have the time and energy for the shop any longer,” the post said.

Jaime Sweany will be moving her Juniper Art Gallery into the teahouse when they vacate. Her gallery is currently located in Spencer, Indiana, but she is excited to open in Bloomington, according to her website

Until then, the Fredericksons are encouraging customers to stop in one last time for a drink or loose leaf teabags before they close their doors.
