Indiana men’s basketball senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was named to the Associated Press preseason All-American team, according to an AP release Monday.

The nod is Jackson-Davis' sixth honor of the 2022-23 preseason, on top of Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year and All-American honors from CBS Sports, Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, College Hoops Today and The Almanac.

Jackson-Davis was named to the AP preseason All-American team prior to the 2021-22 season but did not crack the postseason list at the end of his junior year. At the conclusion of his sophomore campaign in 2020-21, Jackson-Davis earned AP All-American Honorable Mention status.

The AP All-American squad consists primarily of power forwards, with the exception of University of Houston senior guard Marcus Sasser. Jackson-Davis joins a talented group of returners in Gonzaga University senior forward Drew Timme, University of North Carolina senior forward Armando Bacot and University of Kentucky senior forward Oscar Tshiebwe. All three were named their respective conferences’ Preseason Players of the Year, and Timme earned CBS Sports Preseason National Player of the Year accolades earlier in the month.

Indiana basketball opens the 2022-23 campaign with an exhibition against Marian University at 3 p.m. Oct. 29 in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
