Amethyst House, an addiction treatment center, will host its ninth annual fundraising concert 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Indie folk artist Kevin Morby will headline the event, and folk pop artist Cassandra Jenkins will open.
Tickets are available on the venue’s website. VIP tickets are $50, orchestra and lower balcony tickets are $25 and bench and upper balcony tickets are $20. All proceeds will benefit Amethyst House.
The Buskirk-Chumley Theater’s website said Kevin Morby brings humor and charisma onto the stage and performs meaningful songs.
Morby has been a member of the bands Woods and The Babies and has released seven solo albums. He writes lyrics about love, longing and life struggles.
New York City-based Cassandra Jenkins will open the show. Her latest album, “An Overview on Phenomenal Nature,” explores Jenkins’ observations of nature, humanity and attempting to be present through pain.
Amethyst House, a Bloomington not-for-profit agency, helps people recover from addiction through residential and outpatient services. More information is available on their website.
