Indiana athletics announced on Friday plans to renovate the women’s basketball team center in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The renovation will include updates to the locker room, team lounge, training room and coaches meeting room, according to an IU release

The project is scheduled to be finished prior to the 2022-2023 season. It is aimed to assist in recruiting efforts, as well as keep the facilities up to the standards of a top-25 basketball program.

The facility renovations are made possible through the Women’s Excellence program, which was created to support the advancement of Indiana’s 13 women’s varsity sports programs.

"This is an exciting time for our program with the commitment to the renovation of our game day team center," head coach Teri Moren said in the release. "I would like to thank athletic director Scott Dolson along with the Women's Excellence Initiative for giving us a space to help our players prepare for games and compete at the highest level."

The locker room will be renamed after Courtney Cox Cole, a two-sport Indiana athlete from 1990-1993, after a generous donation from her family. Naming opportunities remain available for the team center, team lounge, coaches meeting room and individual lockers.
