The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a bomb threat report for the Walmart located on West State Road 45 at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to an email from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to the scene and spoke to the general manager. The manager said at 4:30 p.m. one of her staff members received a phone call from a caller with a male voice saying he was going to arrive at the Walmart facility with a bomb.

The officers evacuated the Walmart and the Sheriff’s Office contacted the Indiana University Police Department’s canine unit to search for any explosives. The facility was cleared as no devices were located.

The case has been turned over to the investigations unit for a follow up.
