Cardinal Stage and the Dimension Mill will celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with a free discussion panel Oct. 12.

The event will be in the Dimension Mill from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Panelists of local women in technology and innovation will be announced on the Cardinal Stage website.

Bloomington’s Ada Lovelace Day is part of the Dimension Mill’s Innovation Week. From Oct. 10 to 15, the Dimension Mill will feature events discussing technology and innovation.

Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and math. Since it was founded in 2009, it is held every year on the second Tuesday of October.

“It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM and, in doing so, create new role models who will encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in STEM,” the Finding Ada website said.

This is Bloomington’s third annual celebration of Ada Lovelace Day, according to the Cardinal Stage press release. This year, the panel will focus on how the arts relate to STEM.

Masks are required for all attendees and reservations can be made on the Dimension Mill’s eventbrite page.
