IU baseball released the first preview of its 2022 schedule Tuesday. The Hoosiers will play in the “Round Rock Classic” in February at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas, according to a press release.
IU will play against the University of Arkansas, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Stanford University.
IU finished the 2021 season 25-19 with a conference-only schedule. Although six Hoosiers were selected during the MLB draft, other key players like sophomore outfielder Morgan Colopy return to the program for the upcoming season. Colopy batted .274 with 21 runs, five home runs and a .774 OPS during the season.
The first matchup will be against Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 25. IU and Arkansas have played each other twice, with Arkansas winning the last meeting at Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1982.
On Saturday, IU will play UL-Lafayette for the first time ever. Finally, on Sunday, IU will play Stanford.
IU and Stanford met in six games between the 2014 and 2015 seasons, with each team winning three.
The rest of the IU baseball schedule has not been released.
