Police have not yet located armed subject, no active investigation taking place

Just before 3 a.m. Saturday, the Bloomington Police Department responded to reports of multiple shots being fired near 1700 N. Lincoln, about a five-minute walk from Memorial Stadium. No active investigation is taking place, Captain Ryan Pedigo said in an email, and the person has not been identified.

When police arrived at the scene, no suspects or witnesses were there. Authorities discovered empty shell casings in the parking lot, but there were no victims, Pedigo said.

According to an IU Notify alert sent just after 3 a.m., the person was possibly driving a silver Honda Civic. Residents were told to stay indoors until the shelter in place recommendation was lifted just before 4 a.m.
