The Big Ten released its wrestling schedule for the 2021 season Thursday, less than two weeks before it’s set to begin. IU will open its season at home in a dual meet against Illinois on Jan. 10, its first action in nearly 11 months.

“After a long break, we are all excited to compete once again,” IU head coach Angel Escobedo said. “Our schedule is loaded with opportunities to showcase how much this program has grown since last season.”

IU’s next two meets will be on the road — a dual meet against Michigan on Jan. 17, then a tri meet with Northwestern and Penn State on Jan. 30 at Northwestern. IU will return home for a quad meet with Michigan State, Nebraska and Rutgers at Wilkinson Hall on Feb. 6.

The Hoosiers will stay at home for a dual meet against Maryland on Feb. 14, then finish their regular season on the road against in-state rival Purdue on Feb. 21. The Big Ten Championships will be held March 6-7 at Penn State and the NCAA Championships will be March 18-20 in St. Louis.

Due to COVID-19, IU will compete without fans at home meets this spring. Attendance at Wilkinson Hall will be limited to immediate family, coaching staff and team personnel.
