IUPD investigates reported rape at Woodburn Hall on Sunday

IU Police Department is investigating a reported rape that occurred Sunday night in Woodburn Hall, according to a university email sent to students Tuesday morning.

A suspect has not been identified or located yet, IUPD Deputy Chief Shannon Bunger said. The police do not know whether or not the suspect is affiliated with IU, according to the email.

The rape was reported to IUPD at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The student and suspect met on the dating app Grindr, Bunger said.

Bunger said the student went to the hospital for a checkup but was not admitted.
