Parking passes lie piled on top of one another. Employees will be able to purchase multiyear parking passes that will not expire until 2024.

Instead of having to apply for a parking permit each year, full-time employees will be able to purchase a multiyear parking permit for EM-P and EM-S spots starting June 1, according to a press release.

Typically, employees must go through a yearly renewal process, but this year they can purchase permits that will not expire until 2024. The permits can only be purchased through payroll deduction, and the cost will be the same as buying an annual permit. Permit rates vary depending on an employee’s salary.

"This option has been introduced on several IU campuses and has been well-received by employees,"  said Amanda Turnipseed, IU Bloomington director of parking operations in a release.

Since the permit lasts for several years, employees do not need to worry about receiving a parking citation if they forget to hang their new permit on July 1.

For more information about the new permit options, employees can check the IU Parking Operations website.
