Bloomington man dies in four-wheeler incident

A 37-year-old Bloomington man died early Saturday after he lost control of his four-wheeler and was thrown off, according to an Indiana Department of Natural Resources press release.

David Deckard Jr. was driving the vehicle around 9:30 p.m. Friday in a wooded area on private property near the 1400 block of Cedar Bluff Road when the incident occurred, according to the release. He was not wearing a helmet.

Deckard’s head and chest were injured in the incident. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

Indiana conservation officers are investigating the incident. The cause of the incident is unknown.
