Coroner reveals identity of 66-year-old woman hit, killed by bus

The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a woman hit and killed Thursday by a Bloomington Transit bus.

The woman was 66-year-old Margaret Miao-Keong from Bloomington, coroner Joani Shields said in the press release.

The bus struck Miao-Keong around 11:44 a.m. south of Third and Walnut streets as it was leaving the Bloomington Transit Center, according to a press release from Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo.

According to the coroner's release, an autopsy performed Friday found the preliminary cause of death to be blunt force trauma from the accident.

The coroner’s office could not locate any living relatives, according to the press release.
