The IU women’s soccer team’s biggest opponent Friday night turned out to be Mother Nature.

After playing into the 23rd minute of its match at Michigan State, severe weather put the game into a delay at 7:24 p.m. that lasted more than two hours.

At 9:46 p.m. the official MSU women’s soccer Twitter account announced that the game had been postponed due to lightning in the East Lansing area. The teams have not yet determined a make-up date for the conference matchup.

IU’s next game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. when the team travels to Ann Arbor to face the University of Michigan.
