An 18-year-old man was arrested on charges of battery with a deadly weapon Monday night.

Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo said the suspect, Daryl Bothell, saw his ex-girlfriend walking down Kirkwood Avenue with a 46-year-old man and reportedly started an argument.

Pedigo said Bothell stabbed the man’s left hand with a knife.

Police responded to the incident around 8:40 p.m. near the 200 block of East Kirkwood Avenue. Bothell, the 46-year-old and the witness were all on the scene when police arrived. Officers and detectives interviewed all three.

Pedigo said the victim was taken to the hospital where he was told the injury wasn’t life-threatening.
