A 33-year-old man may need surgery to repair a wound on his leg after a car hit him and fled the scene around 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Acadia Court apartment complex.

Bloomington Police Department Captain Ryan Pedigo said the man drove his friend's car to Acadia Court to visit friends. He had just exited his friend’s car when he saw a different car heading southbound towards him in the parking lot.

The man told police the car struck him, pinning him to the car he had just exited. He then fell onto the ground. The man saw a passenger flee the car he believed to be his ex-girlfriend, Pedigo said.

Pedigo said the car fled the scene after the passenger exited. Police do not know if the car contained multiple passengers. The man sustained leg injuries that may require surgery, Pedigo said.

The investigation is active.
