IU played Kentucky on May 8 at Bart Kaufman Field. IU signed nine recruits Wednesday.

Tuesday’s home opener for IU softball has been cancelled and the baseball team’s game has been postponed.

Expected cold weather is the cause of both of the decisions.

The softball team was slated to play at 5 p.m. Tuesday against Butler University, but will instead have to wait until March 15 for its home opener. The team’s next chance to improve on its  17-2 start to the season will be this weekend in Tampa, Florida, at the UCF-Clearwater Parks and Recreation Showcase Tournament.

IU baseball was set to face Indiana State University with a 4 p.m. first pitch. The date for the make-up game has not been determined.

At 6-5 on the season, the baseball team’s next games will be this weekend in Seattle for the Safeco Field Tournament. The baseball team’s next home game will also be March 15 when the Hoosiers open up a four-game series against Canisius College.
