Fourth grader Yena Park wins Scripps Regional Spelling Bee

Twenty-eight students ranging from third to eighth graders competed in the 2019 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on Feb. 16 at the Monroe County Public Library. 

Fourth grader Yena Park from University Elementary School won the bee after correctly spelling “enthusiasm” in the twelfth round of the competition. Park will compete in the National Spelling Bee semifinals and championships in May in National Harbor, Maryland.
