* FINAL: IU defeats Northwestern 68-66

Juwan Morgan left the game with an injury inside the final four minutes, but the Hoosiers made just enough plays down the stretch to see out a gritty win.

Vic Law had a buzzer-beating three-point attempt to try and win the game for Northwestern as time expired, but it was wide left of the basket.

Romeo Langford finishes with 20 points and Morgan had 17 points plus 12 rebounds.

Hoosiers are 1-0 in conference play.

* Under-4 timeout (3:30 to go in the game) Northwestern leads IU 61-58.

It remains a back-and-forth affair right until the very end in Bloomington.

Northwestern has hit its last three field goals to take its current lead, despite another superhuman performances from Juwan Morgan, who has 17 points and 12 rebounds for IU.

Dererk Pardon has just flat out destroyed IU on the interior today. He has 24 points on 11 of 15 shooting and 10 rebounds. Whether it's De'Ron Davis, Evan Fitzner or Morgan, no one has been able to contain him.

* Under-8 timeout (7:49 to go in the game) IU and Northwestern are tied 53-53.

The final eight minutes of today's game will determine which team begins conference play with a 1-0 record.

Romeo Langford just buried a deep jumper following an incredible out-of-bounds save by Zach McRoberts to put the Hoosiers up temporarily.

Langford now leads the way with 16 points for the home team.

Morgan has 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

* Under-12 timeout (10:32 to go in the game) IU leads Northwestern 50-49.

It's been a game of small runs, as both teams trade four-point bursts on each end of the court.

Juwan Morgan has 14 points and Romeo Langford has 13 points, but no one on the Hoosiers has more than seven points and no one else has been assertive on offense.

Al Durham had a nice baseline drive for a layup in the most recent stretch of play, but the IU offense remains reliant, almost to a fault, on Morgan and Langford.

Durham also has four fouls, one away from being eliminated from the game.

Evan Fitzner has made just one of his four three-point attempts. IU is 2-9 as a team from downtown while Northwestern is 4-10 from deep.

* Under-16 timeout (15:56 to go in the game) IU leads Northwestern 42-37.

Northwestern hasn't scored in nearly three minutes, and overall the Wildcats have made just one of their last eight shots.

Juwan Morgan is up to 12 points for IU now, and is just one rebound away from a double-double.

Dererk Pardon continues to be the soul of the Northwestern offense, as he has 16 points.

* HALFTIME: IU leads Northwestern 37-33.

Juwan Morgan leads IU with 10 points, while Dererk Pardon has 12 for Northwestern.

Early fouls trouble for De'Ron Davis allowed Pardon to have success around the basket once Davis left the game.

Northwestern went cold to end the half shooting the ball, as the Wildcats missed their final four shots to end the half,

Both teams are shooting the ball well with the Wildcats shooting at a 56.5 percent rate while the Hoosiers are making 60.7 percent of their shots.

Morgan has six rebounds and Romeo Langford has four rebounds to go with his nine points. Devonte Green has also provided IU with a spark off the bench after he and Zach McRoberts were largely ineffective in their return to action against Duke.

* Under-4 timeout (3:37 left in the first half) IU and Northwestern are tied at 31.

Dererk Pardon continues to have success inside against IU, easily splitting Fitzner and Juwan Morgan for several dunks.

Fitzner has gotten on the board with a three-pointer, and Langford is now IU's leading scorer with nine points.

Rob Phinisee made a very nice defensive play to generate a transition layup to tie the game right before the break.

Northwestern is shooting 13-19 from the field.

* Under-8 timeout (7:27 left in the first half) IU leads Northwestern 21-20.

Dererk Pardon is becoming a problem for the Hoosiers down low near the basket. Northwestern's big man has 10 points on 4-4 shooting so far, and with De'Ron Davis in foul trouble with two fouls, Evan Fitzner has been tasked with trying to contain Pardon for the last few minutes.

Elsewhere, Devonte Green has two assists off the bench and has shown flashes of his flamboyant play that works well for the Hoosiers on offense.

Juwan Morgan leads IU with six points.

* Under-12 timeout (11:33 left in the first half) IU and Northwestern are tied 15-15.

De'Ron Davis is in early foul trouble for IU with two, meaning Evan Fitzner could see some extended minutes for the remainder of the half.

Vic Law and Dererk Pardon have five points each for the Wildcats, while the Hoosiers are led in scoring by Al Durham with five points.

Both teams are hot from the field, as IU has made its last three shots and Northwestern has made its last four shots. IU is in the bonus for the rest of the half.

* Under-16 timeout (15:50 left in the first half) IU leads Northwestern 9-4.

IU starts 4-6 from the field as Al Durham leads the Hoosiers with five points. Been a pretty active start from IU in terms of rebounding and hustling on the ground for loose balls as well, especially after Coach Archie Miller brought up the team's lack of hustle plays against Duke.

Romeo Langford had an electrifying steal and breakaway dunk to give the Hoosiers a five-point lead at the break.

Northwestern has already turned the ball over three times.

* Northwestern is wearing all purple while IU is wearing all white. IU won the opening tip and the first possession ends with a missed shot by Juwan Morgan.

* Both Zach McRoberts and Devonte Green are expected to play for the Hoosiers today. Race Thompson and Jerome Hunter are still out indefinitely, but Hunter has rejoined the team after his leg surgery.

* Here are the starting lineups for each team.

* IU is 5-2 overall while Northwestern is 6-1. Both teams are starting conference play today.
