An IU student was arrested Tuesday on Kirkwood Avenue after he was found peeing behind Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Ethan Christopher, 22, rode up to the restaurant around 7:30 p.m. on an electric scooter. He then threw the scooter at the railing outside and began cursing at it, witnesses said. Christopher threw a bag of food he had at a table where customers were sitting, police said. He then went inside and flirted with some women before coming back outside.
Once he was outside, Christopher saw that the scooter he had rode to the restaurant had been rented by someone else and got angry, witnesses said. He then saw a jacket sitting next to a customer.
“I want this coat,” Christopher said as he grabbed it from the man, witnesses said.
The owner of the jacket got up and took it back, then told Christopher that he was calling the police. Bloomington Police Department officers soon found Christopher urinating behind the restaurant.
Officers arrested Christopher and charged him with theft, public nudity and public intoxication.
