Tyra Buss to take her talents overseas

Senior Tyra Buss celebrates midcourt after winning the WNIT Championship game Saturday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers beat Virginia Tech, 65-57. Buss just signed a contract with Sporting Anthens in the Greek Women's Second Division. 

Former IU women’s basketball guard Tyra Buss has signed a contract for Sporting Athens in Athens, Greece.

The class of 2018 graduate will become a part of the team for upcoming season as it opens in October and goes until April.

The team is in the Greek Women’s Second Division.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play professionally, and I am so grateful for this opportunity I have been given,” Buss said in an IU Athletics press release. “I am excited for this new journey and look forward to all the opportunities I’ll have to work on my game and to experience new adventures in another country.”

Buss has the program record in seven categories, including points, steals and assists. 

In her final season she helped lead the team to its first ever WNIT Championship.
