Then junior, now senior, Jake Brown putts the ball during practice at the IU Golf Course in Jan. 2018.

One week after junior Erin Harper was selected to represent IU women's golf at an NCAA Regional, junior Jake Brown was selected from the men's team.

Brown becomes the first IU golfer to represent the team at a regional since then-sophomore Jorge Campillo did it in 2007.

This season, Brown was the top golfer for the team with an average round score of 72.59. Brown had six top-25 finishes, including top-three finishes at the Crooked Stick Invitational, Irish Creek Intercollegiate and Boilermaker Invitational.

Following a 12th-place finish at the Big Ten Championships in Baltimore last weekend, the team’s season came to a finish.

This is the fifth straight season the team has not advanced past the conference tournament. It is also the second straight season that both the men's and women's teams failed to advance.

Brown will begin play May 14th at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
