Bloomington man pleads guilty to two felonies

A Bloomington man pleaded guilty Monday to criminal confinement and sexual battery.

Robert Evan Childers, 29, pleaded guilty to the two felonies, which were amended from his original charge of rape.

The investigation into Childers began when his ex-girlfriend found disturbing photos and videos on his phone, according to court documents. These included nude images of various women, organized into albums by their names.

Court documents show that among these albums was a video depicting a man sexually assaulting a woman, who was laying facedown and appeared to be unconscious.

Childers went to the woman's house the evening of Nov. 26, 2015, according to court documents, and the two were drinking Jim Beam together.

The woman said in court documents she was drinking so heavily that she passed out. She also told police she woke up without pants or underwear.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 24.
