A Bloomington man died in a dirt bike crash Saturday after his bike skidded off the road.
John Sexton, 25, was driving a 2016 Yamaha dirt bike down West Mount Carmel Road in Gosport, Indiana, about 30 minutes northwest of Bloomington, when he lost control of his bike. Sexton was not wearing any safety equipment.
He was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In addition to IU Health ambulances, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Ellettsville Fire and Police Departments arrived on the scene.
Indiana Conservation Officer Greg Swanson is investigating the incident.
