IU debaters will compete in the halls of Ballantine against 18 different schools, including the Ivy League school Dartmouth College; Big Ten rivals University of Michigan, Northwestern University and University of Iowa; and the United States Military Academy.
This is the sixth annual Hoosier Invitational Tournament, and it will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and continue until a winner is crowned around 5 p.m. Monday night.
IU will have 16 undergraduates debating in the competition. This year’s topic is whether or not the United States government should increase restrictions on domestic greenhouse gas emissions.
