IU senior diver Michal Bower finished third at the USA Diving Winter National Championships in the 3-meter springboard competition.
Bower entered the final round with a fourth place qualifying score of 496.40. Over the course of her final five dives she scored a 261.90, and a total of 758.30 for the competition. She also scored over 54.00 on four of her final five dives.
“What a great week for Michal,” IU head diving coach Drew Johansen said in a press release. “She got better every day and finishing her last day on the podium was perfect.”
The third place finish also grants Bower a spot on the USA World University Games team that will compete in Taipei, Taiwan in August of 2017.
Bower also finished seventh in the 1-meter springboard earlier this week at the Winter Championships.
