Uncovering Bloomington: Greetings is not your grandma's gift shop

Sometimes you need to find the best spirit wear and sometimes you just need to find the best gift.

But whatever it is that you’re looking for, Greetings, located on Kirkwood Avenue, has it.

This isn’t your grandma’s souvenir and gift shop.

Greetings is a little store, right where Kirkwood Avenue and South Dunn Street intersect.

The selection is widely ranged and the prices all vary from a few dollars for a gag gift or IU shot glass to $50 for a sweatshirt.

There are stores all around town and up and down Kirkwood Avenue that compete for everyone’s attention when it comes to interesting items or IU spirit wear, but Greetings seems to be often missed.

This shouldn’t be the case because of the fantastic selection it offers within the small space.

The IU apparel sold at Greetings isn’t just your average sweatshirts and t-shirts with Indiana University or Hoosiers across it.

On display, you’ll find tie-dye t-shirts and others with the infamous “Dry Campus” or sweatshirts with the graphic shape of Indiana with a heart on Bloomington’s geographic location.

But the items sold are not simply IU related. Many carry other themes.

You can find a Beatle’s coffee mug, fun bar glass, an interesting corkscrew or any variety of humorous gift items.

It’s the local Hallmark store for people in their 20s and 30s.

Yet, if you still need that shirt to let everyone know how much you hate Purdue University, Greetings will have you covered.

When your friends come to visit or you need to find something for a friend’s fast-approaching birthday, head over to this shop.
