The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Wednesday the 100th Running of the Indy 500 is sold out for the first time in the race’s history.

Because of the sellout, it has been announced the race will be shown live in Indianapolis for the first time since the early 1950s. There had been a long-standing practice of delaying the broadcast in Indianapolis until the evening.

“With no way to accommodate more fans at IMS, we are delighted to be able to suspend the television delay in Indianapolis, making it possible for those that cannot be with us on Race Day to watch the 100th Running live,” IMS President Doug Boles said in a press release.

The race will still be shown in the evening on WRTV so fans that attended the race can go home and watch the broadcast.

James Hinchcliffe starts on the pole after sustaining serious injuries in a practice run last year. Joesf Newgarden and Ryan Hunter-Reay round out the front row.

Juan Pablo Montoya is the defending champion and will start at in the 17th position.

The 200-lap race will begin at 12:21 p.m. Sunday. Coverage will begin at 11 a.m. on ABC.
