Police searching for McDonald's robbery suspect

Police officials are searching for the suspect of a robbery at a Bloomington McDonald’s that took place early Wednesday morning.

Just after the McDonald’s at 1919 S. Walnut opened Wednesday morning, a man walked up to the register and handed the cashier a note with the words, “This is an armed robbery. Give me all the money.”

Although he displayed no weapons, the cashier handed him money from the register, Bloomington Police Department Lt. John Kovach said. The man then left the McDonald’s on foot, exiting through the north doors.

BPD officials received the call at about 5:49 a.m. and deployed a canine unit to the location but could not find the suspect.

Authorities are searching for a black man in his early 20’s, between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11 in height, with a thin to medium build.

When he left the McDonald’s, he was wearing jeans and several layers of clothing, including a cream-colored jacket with a red-hooded sweatshirt underneath. He was also wearing a cream-colored hat and white shoes.

BPD urges local residents to call officials with any information about this suspect.
