Kuhn named Track Athlete of the Week

From IDS reports

Sophomore middle distance runner Daniel Kuhn was named co-Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Kuhn shares the distinction with Rutgers freshman Izaiah Brown.

Kuhn won the 800-meter run at the Hoosiers’ dual meet against Tennessee. His 1:49.63 time set a new IU-Tennessee dual meet record. It’s the sixth best time in school history and is currently the top time in the nation.

“I didn’t think I was going to hit the big one (Saturday),” Kuhn said. “It was definitely something I had really looked forward to. That was my indoor personal record. But I was just happy to get the points for the team. We were able to get the win, and that’s what means most to me.”

This is Kuhn’s first ever indoor track and field weekly award. IU will return to action this Saturday with a dual meet at Purdue.
