Former IU basketball players named to Hall of Fame team

Former IU basketball players Mike Evans and Alan Henderson were among the 18 men named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s Silver Anniversary Team, which recognizes accomplishments in high school basketball 
beginning 25 years ago.

Evans played for Terra Haute South, and Henderson played for Brebuef in Indianapolis. Both were named to the Indiana All Stars while they were in high school as well and excelled during their time in Bloomington.

Evans was named the Big Ten MVP in 1996 after averaging 21.2 points per game and grabbing 7.1 rebounds per game. Henderson was named an All-American in 1995 after averaging 23.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

The Silver Anniversary Team will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s banquet March 23, 2016, in the Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis. There will also be a midday reception at the Hall of Fame Museum in New Castle, Indiana.
