IU has confirmed all 17 students studying in France this semester, 15 from IU-Bloomington and two from IU-Purdue University Indianapolis, are safe.
IU has also confirmed that those students who have been studying in other European cities, but who might have been traveling in France on Friday, are safe.
“At this time, the university is not recommending that students return to the United States, but we will continue to closely monitor events in Paris and around the world to provide as much support as possible to our students who are studying abroad,” according to a statement from IU.
The University began reaching out to students and programs immediately after the attacks in Paris on Friday, according to the statement.The University has also reached out to those students from France who are studying at IU, offering its support.
