Man with stab wounds tells police he needs duct tape

Police were called to assist a 38-year-old man who had been stabbed Sunday afternoon. They found him at Kirkwood Avenue and Washington Street, according to police records.

He had two puncture wounds on his left side but did not seem to want police assistance, according to police records.

When asked how he got the injuries and who stabbed him, the man said he did not know, according to police records. He said it might have happened at People’s Park.

He told police he needed duct tape and then he would be on his way. The police told him his injuries were serious, but he said he did not need help.

The police then discovered there was a warrant for the man’s arrest due to parole violations.

The injury was serious enough that the victim needed surgery for internal
injuries.

He is in the hospital, and the surgeon said he will be there for four days and may need a week to recover.
