FINAL: IU 31, Wake Forest 24

Ending the game with 19 completions, senior quarterback Nate Sudfeld passed for 205 yards and two touchdowns, both to junior receiver Ricky Jones and sophomore receiver Simmie Cobbs.

Junior running back Jordan Howard rushed 33 times for 168 yards and one touchdown, while sophomore running back Devine Redding ran 10 times for 48 yards.

In addition to his touchdown reception, Cobbs caught a career-high seven passes for a career-high 75 yards.

The IU defense recorded a total of six sacks, eight tackles for loss and 10 pass deflections, featuring two sacks by sophomore linebacker Tegray Scales, three tackles for loss by junior defensive lineman Darius Latham and four pass deflections by sophomore cornerback Rashard Fant.

Coming out of the half, IU began running the ball more than passing, as they handed the ball to Howard and Redding nine times on an 11-play, 80 yard drive that ended in a power run up the middle for a two-yard Howard touchdown, giving the Hoosiers a 24-10 lead.

After an IU three-and-out, a Wake Forest fake punt on fourth down for turnover on downs and a Wake Forest punt downed at the three yard line, The Hoosiers ended the third quarter with the ball at their own 21 yard line.

After 4:45 and an 8-play drive, the Hoosiers punted the ball for the seventh time of the game.

Following trades of punts, Wake Forest quarterback Kendall Hinton was pressured in his own endzone and forced a deep pass that was intercepted and returned 20 yards for a touchdown by sophomore safety Tony Fields, and the Hoosiers took a 31-10 lead over the Demon Decons.

In an effort to rally from a 21-point deficit, Wake Forest countered IU's score with a 12-play, 75 yard drive that ended with a 14-yard touchdown run by Hinton, to make the score 31-17.

After an IU punt, Wake Forest ran down the field on a seven-play, 90 yard drive in 59 seconds to score on a 29-yard pass to Wake Forest receiver Tabari Hines.

Recovering the onside kick at its own 48 yard line, Wake Forest was down by seven points, 31-24.

With 1:25 to go in the game, Wake Forest faced a 4th-and-20, when Hinton heaved a deep pass into the endzone, which was deflected by Fant.

IU kneeled the ball in victory formation, improving their record to 4-0 on the season and dropping Wake Forest to 2-2.
