Sophomore forward Tanner Thompson picked up a pair of All-American honors over the weekend. Thompson was named first team All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and third team All-America by College Soccer News.
The Loomis, Calif., native scored six goals this season, including two game-winners. He led IU in both goals scored and total points.
Earlier this year, Thompson was named a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy, which honors the nation's top college player. He was also named first team All-Big Ten, academic All-Big Ten and first team All-Midwest Region.
He is the first IU men's soccer player to earn first team All-America honors since 2011 and the first on any All-America team since 2012. In the program's 41-year history, 39 IU players have earned 62 All-American nominations.
