Autopsy inconclusive in student death

An autopsy conducted Monday morning on IU student Abigail Bott, 18, was inconclusive in determining the cause of death, pending toxicology results.

There is no evidence of trauma, and foul play is not suspected, Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer said in a press release.

The toxicology results are expected to be back in approximately 4 to 6 weeks. After that, Meyer said the final cause of death is expected to be determined.

The death was reported to IUPD at 2:26 p.m. Sunday when Bott was found in her residence Mcnutt Quad.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Students affected by Bott's death can contact Counseling and Psychological Services at (812) 855-5711 to make an appointment. CAPS offers two free counseling sessions a semester.
