A Bloomington man was arrested Tuesday after police seized what they believed to be heroin from a controlled buy.
The arrest ended an ongoing Bloomington Police Department drug investigation that began in late January.
Andrew Bradley Vieira, 26, is currently booked at the Monroe County Jail facing preliminary charges of dealing in a narcotic drug. Bond is set at $40,000 surety and $500 cash.
BPD Sgt. Joseph Crider said Vieira had allegedly sold a substance believed to be heroin to a confidential informant on three separate occasions, once in late January, once on Feb. 18 and a third time Tuesday.
Following the buy, a detective observed Vieira occupying a vehicle and requested an officer make a traffic stop on the car, during which Vieira was arrested.
A search of the car produced needles and a spoon, which police believed to be used for the injection of heroin, Crider said.
