In herds, greek hopefuls traveled from house to house Thursday for IU’s First Invite, the second round of recruitment for female students during sorority rush.
Bundled to keep warm in the below-freezing weather, recruits waited outside the houses before socializing with existing members and viewing skits intended to highlight the respective chapters’ unique qualities and atmospheres.
Thursday marked day one of First Invite, the second step of recruitment formerly referred to as 14 Party.
On Friday, recruits will participate in the second half of First Invite.
Recruitment continues throughout the weekend, with Saturday’s events representing Second Invite and Sunday’s marking the Preference Round.
The rushing women could receive bids Monday night if a chapter thinks they’ll fit into their house.
