Vice President for International Affairs David Zaret will present the highlights of a recent trip to South America that resulted in IU’s newly established partnerships with Chilean and Brazilian universities.
The talk will be 4 to 5 p.m. Dec. 12 in the IU Auditorium Grand Foyer.
Earlier this month, University President Michael McRobbie departed for Brazil,, Argentina and Chile with his wife, Laurie Burns McRobbie, and Zaret.
According to a press release, it was the first time in about 70 years a sitting IU president had visited Brazil.
While there, McRobbie signed partnership agreements with the Brazilian Academy of Letters, a literary society devoted to the Portuguese language, as well as several universities. The agreements will generate study abroad and other academic opportunities, McRobbie said in a press release.
The forum will be followed by a reception. Those interested in attending should email ovpia@iu.edu by Tuesday.
